Weekend Picks: Lots of laughs, masses of music and fantastic food

Around the nation this weekend, Soundwave Festival waves goodbye for another (super successful and sold out) year in MelbourneAdelaide and Perth, while Future Music Festival materialises in Brisbane and Perth for its first weekend. Don’t forget to check out all the sideshows!

On the comedy front, Danny Bhoy has touched down in Australia and is headed for Hobart and Launceston this weekend, while Kitty Flanegan is doing an 11 day residency in Adelaide. Perth Festival closes its main event doors on Saturday evening (but check out the final line-up announcements from the upcoming Perth International Comedy Festival!), and Enlighten Canberra opens for nine days with an array of entertainment and experiences in the capital.

Take the little ones to the Disney Princess Film Festival in Darwin, get gourmet’d at Melbourne Food and Wine Festival opening today, appreciate love, equality, diversity and serious style at the awesome Sydney Mardi Gras Parade that closes the festival, or see the start of the world’s best surfers at the Roxy and Quiksilver Pro surfing competitions on the Gold Coast.
