Daft Punk-associated Weekend Vines cancelled

Weekend Vines, the camping festival to be held for two days after the May 17 world premiere of Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories in Wee Waa NSW, is cancelled. Promoters admit, “We have worked extremely hard on this project for the last 3 weeks but we were told one thing and then another a number of times. In light of this new information we have no choice but to cancel. We hung our balls out there, but unfortunately on this occasion it just wasn’t meant to be.”

The festival, with international and local DJs and with tickets $120 a head, was to be at Seplin Estate Winery, which has a liquor license. But this did not extend to the entire site, which promoters discovered. Getting an extension from local authorities proved a slow and laborious task.
