Boomerang announces Wantok SING SING

The indigenous festival for all Australians, Boomerang, revealed that the 17-piece star-studded Wantok SING SING will play the October event.

A hit at the London Olympics and selling out two Sydney Opera House shows in March, the ensemble features artists, dancers and musicians from Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, The Torres Strait Islands, The Cook Islands (Raratonga) and Indigenous Australians including Frank Yamma, Djakapurra, accompanied by George Telek (PNG), Vika and Linda Bull (Tonga), Airileke (PNG), Albert David, Mariwo (Torres Strait Islands), Kas Futialo (Samoa) and Tieni Ruapene (Rarotonga) -in full costume under the musical direction of David Bridie.

At Boomerang they will perform Wan Solwara Pipel, an epic journey that follows the song-lines of indigenous peoples of Oceania.
