Plans to demolish Melbourne music venue The Palace Theatre for a 30-storey apartment building triggered off a grassroots campaign.
A petition was signed by 800,000 people in eight days including Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Brody Dalle (The Distillers), Gotye, Stereophonics and Spinnerette. The Offspring has also re-tweeted the creators of the Twitter account.
A public meeting is held this Friday (July 19) at Trades Hall (Victoria Street, Carlton) to discuss strategies.
