The Newcastle festival has released a statement following their lawsuit loss against 2011 festival no-show Flo Rida and subsequential liquidation of promoter Mothership Music Pty Ltd.
Mothership Music were forced to cough up $200,000 to the Australian Taxation Office sparking rumours this year's event wouldn't go ahead.
Today, the festival issued a statement, quashing those rumours. Read in full below.
"In light of the current media reports in regards to Flo Rida winning his appeal, and the subsequent voluntary liquidation of Mothership Music, we’d like to guarantee and 100% confirm that its business as usual for Fat As Butter. These developments in no way effect the running of the festival.
Fat As Butter is a totally seperate Proprietary Limited company and is in no way financially linked to Mothership Music or effected by the decision of the Flo Rida appeal.
The festival has been running successfully since 2008, bringing awesome experiences to the region, with this years extravaganza on track to being the biggest yet.
It's business as usual here at FAB HQ, and we’re all excited about how things are shaping up for Oct 26.
But don’t forget, despite all of this, Flo Rida is still a prime dickhead, and it would take a lot more than someone like him to stop this awesome festival."
