Hunters & Collectors to perform at AFL Grand Final

Hunters & Collectors and Birds of Tokyo have been announced as music entertainment for the 2013 Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday September 28.

This year’s national music line up also includes singer-songwriter Tina Arena who will perform the Australian national anthem before the match.

Halftime at the MCG will see Hunters & Collectors perform live for the first time since 2009 exclusively for Australia’s biggest sporting event of the year.

“From 1981 till their split in 1998, Hunters & Collectors were hailed as one of Australia’s greatest rock bands,” said Michael Gudinski, music mogul/producer of AFL Grand Final entertainment. “After their amazing one-off performance at 2009’s Sound Relief concert at the MCG, they left us all wanting more."

Birds of Tokyo, whose most recent album, March Fires, debuted at number one on the national ARIA album chart earlier this year will perform in the lead up to the centre bounce.

Both bands will perform again at the free post-match Premiership Party
