Future Music Festival 2015

It’s the biggest touring festival of the Aussie summer calendar – an annual, cross-country tour de force of trippy good times, massive parties and THE hottest names in music, from international superstars to cutting-edge newcomers. The countdown has officially begun – Future Summer 2015 is here! Get ready Sydney: next year, we’re kicking off the party with you. Future Summer 2015’s very first stop on our national trek will take place at Royal Randwick on Saturday 28 February.

Future got its start in our harbour city home way back in 2006, and over the last eight years Sydney’s grown into the biggest, most mind-blowing party of them all – with over 55,000 of you joining us in 2014. From Sydney, we’ll head west to Perth, before bringing it all back home a week later in BrisbaneMelbourne and Adelaide.

Avicii

The most in-demand DJ on the planet! Avicii’s brand new single ‘The Days’ is out now - and EDM’s hottest export will perform his hugely anticipated second album Stories at Future! He’s a global phenomenon: ‘Seek Romance’, the Grammy-nominated ‘Sunshine’, ‘LE7ELS’, ‘Hey Brother’, ‘Wake Me Up’ – the latter #1 in over 70 countries with over six million copies sold, including eight times Platinum here in Oz. The Prodigy 

Hold on tight – this is gonna be brutal! Simply put, The Prodigy changed the course of music and are utter legends. Currently in the studio cooking up a brand new album for 2015, Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim are ready to bring back the mayhem. 1994’s iconic Music for the Jilted Generation was a true groundbreaker, while 1997’s The Fat of the Land was hailed a revelation. Afrojack

Two-time Grammy winner Afrojackwon us over in 2011 with ‘Take Over Control’, Nick van der Wall quickly morphing into one of EDM’s hottest names. In May ‘14 he dropped debut album Forget The World – #2 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Afrojack’s collaborated with Pitbull, Beyoncé and David Guetta (including the worldwide smash ‘Titanium’). 

Nero

Rounding out our epic set of London natives is NERO: Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray and vocalist Alana Watson. The thumping dubrock heavyweights have sold over 14,000 copies of ‘Satisfy’ in Australia so far (listen here). In 2013 NERO took out a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for their remix of ‘Promises’ with Skrillex.

Die Antwoord 

Prepare thyselves, futuristic rap rave crew/Cape Town locals Die Antwoordwill be unleashed! Die Antwoordstruck internet gold with ‘Enter The Ninja’, cracking the British Top 40 in 2010 with world domination clear in their sights. 2 Chainz

Carrying out a world-conquering campaign over the last two years, 2 Chainz will bring his hits to Future 2015! Emerging from the competitive Atlanta scene, 2 Chainz landed a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album, while his tracks with ASAP Rocky, Drake & Kendrick Lamar ‘Fuckin’ Problems’ also scored a nom for ‘Best Rap Song’. 2 Chainz is headed our way at last!

Tchami

With his hyper-catchy house spreading like hot lava, the sensual synths and dangerous basslines of the mysterious collar-clad Parisian Tchami will floor you – just as they did for Skrillex, who’s taken Tchami on tour in the USA this month. The Frenchman’s take on Janet Jackson’s ‘Go Deep’ (listen here) was an overnight sensation, as was the killer remix of AlunaGeorge’s ‘You Know You Like It’ (here). Then there was ‘Promesses’ (with Kaleem Taylor).  Robin Schulz The rise and rise of Robin Schulzcontinues with his first ever Australian tour! The German DJ/producer has completely dominated European and US charts, breathing new life into Wood & The Prick’s ‘Prayer In C’ and breaking records on global iTunes, Shazaam and Spotify charts. Gorgon City

Bassjackers

Heading back to Future is party startersBassjackers – Marlon Flohr and Ralph van Hilst. The pair’s remix for Dada Life (‘White Noise/Red M eat’, listen here) smashed into the charts with a #1 spot on hypem.com, and then Tiësto picked up 2011’s ‘Mush Mush’, dominating blogs worldwide and checked by David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia. Throttle

Melbourne’s own EDM prodigy producer is set to bring his fresh brand of dirty disco to Future Summer ‘15!Throttle has risen as one to watch after a smash hit remix of Avicii’s ‘You Make Me’ – and he performed with the EDM giant as support on his 2014 TRUE headline tour. His effortless skills behind the decks command attention, with a following that includes almost 70, 000 Facebook fans as well as counting Hardwell and M4SONIC amongst his fans.

Art Department

This Canadian power-house duo is made up of techno/house connoisseur Kenny Glasgow and Jonny White, label owner of No.19. 2010’s ‘Without You’ (listen here) set the electronic dance music world abuzz,. Endorsed by the likes of Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones and Soul Clap, their second full length album The Drawing Board was a game-changer, rated 7.3 by Pitchfork. Straight out of Toronto, ArtDepartment will rock your socks off… welcome them to Future Music ‘15!
Martin GarrixAfter smashing it at FMF 2014 we’re thrilled at the return of the youngest person to ever reach #1 on Beatport:Martin Garrix! Martin’s ascent in the past 12 months has been meteoric. ‘Animals’ was #1 in Belgium, the UK, and  Top 10 in another 10 countries. Here, it went Platinum, topping the Club ARIA chart – 70,000+ copies. His latest is a teaming with MOTi called ‘Virus (How About Now)’. 

Example

Elliot Gleave is an honorary Aussie these days. Rightly so – five albums up his sleeve, including 2014’s Live Life Living (#1 in the UK Dance Charts and #17 in the ARIA Album chart). He exploded in 2010 with Won’t Go Quietly. 2011’s Playing In The Shadows was a Platinum smash, led by ‘Changed The Way You Kissed Me’ – #14 on the ARIA charts. In 2014,Example nailed it again with ‘One More Day (Stay With Me)’. Welcome back!

Sigma

This British drum’n’bass duo absolutely nailed it when they morphed Kanye’s ‘Bound 2’ into the biggest track of the summer! ‘Nobody To Love’ (here) was a #1 smash, Sigma’s first Top 40 song and a chart-topper from Poland to New Zealand. They’ve remixed Ellie Goulding, Kiesza, Eric Prydz and Groove Armada, and in September dropped another #1 hit: ‘Changing’, featuring vox from Paloma Faith (listenhere). 

Kiesza

She scored one of the hottest debut singles of 2014 with the vocal house hit ‘Hideaway’, thanks to a killer choreographed clip viewed over 95 million times! Now Kiesza’s headed to Australia for the very first time. ‘Hideaway’ rocketed to the #1 spot on the UK charts, and she’s just dropped her debut LP, Sound of a Woman. Buzzfeed reckons ‘Hideaway’ is their “song of the summer”, and with #1 spots on iTunes charts in 14 countries – we totally agree.

BlasterJaxx

With fans in some of the biggest DJs on earth – David Guetta, Hardwell, Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Nicky Romero and more – Netherlands producer/DJ Dutch duo BlasterJaxx (Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf) create a perfect fusion of electro-house, progressive and big room beats. Klingande

Cocoon: Sven Väth

Arguably the world’s leading techno DJ:Sven Väth is the stuff of legend! The Frankfurt born DJ/producer first travelled to Ibiza back in 1980. More than 30 years later, in 2014 he took Cocoon back to the party island for a massive 18 weeks of superclub nights. With over 30 years behind the decks Väth has always led the way, creating his very own artist booking, event agency, and record label, Cocoon Recordings.
