Here’s what a few people have said about the preview show:

"On another tack entirely, Margaret and I, and some friends of ours, enjoyed an absolutely superb evening's entertainment by acclaimed singer Steph Acraman, who pays tribute to Jazz diva Julie London with the brand new show 'Nice Girls… Don't Stay For Breakfast’. We cannot speak highly enough of the show - superb vocals, brilliant pianist and double bass, great sound, delightful speakeasy atmosphere, and the best set list you'll ever find. Steph has a beaut personality, and sophisticated stage presence. Just do it. You won’t be disappointed!” - Robin Cross

Stephanie is a singer of great versatility and experience. Having trained classically as a soprano, but working actively in musical theatre, opera and jazz. Apart from Australia and New Zealand, she has toured the world performing to audiences as far afield as Italy, Singapore, Fiji, Vietnam, Dubai, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Cambodia. She is known for her broad range of talents having commenced her theatre career as a dancer. She also had much success at the 2014 Adelaide Fringe with her original show Pleasure Opera.

The ambience of one of Adelaide’s premiere cabaret venues provided the perfect setting for showcasing the glamour of the 1950s. The set list focused heavily on London’s first two LPs both entitled Julie Is Her Name released in 1955 by Liberty Records, and included the most famous of London’s songs Cry Me A River, I’m In The Mood For Love and No Moon At All from the same album. The performance of showcased Stephanie's theatrical skills, her well honed technique and faultless delivery. After a brief interlude, set two brought with it another glorious gown and a full band sound for more London standards including an old favourite, Fly Me To The Moon Tony Lillywhite was an absolute stand out for his stylised solos on piano.

"Overall, Nice Girls Don’t Stay For Breakfast ticked all the boxes for professionalism and audience participation, along with ‘Stella’ showcasing Stephanie Acraman’s theatrical pedigree delivered in a 1950’s New York style.” - George Kaplan, Clothesline

The band members include Dean Barcello, Peter Caputo, Ben Adamson and Anthony Lillywhite, all well known to local audiences having played in bands such as Lucky Seven, The Memphis Suns, Lady Voodoo, Sunset Lounge, to name a few..

FatLady Productions are hugely excited to be partnering with a hot new venue in Adelaide, The Published Arthouse located on the corner of Franklin and Cannon Streets in the CBD. The Published Arthouse shares the same building as The Publisher’s Hotel, the former printing house of the Adelaide Stock and Station Journal. This will be The Published Arthouse’s first year to be involved with The Adelaide Fringe Festival, and they will be transforming their stunning venue into a cool 50’s underground jazz club for the ‘Nice Girls’ show. Complete with cigarette girls, in-house bar and most importantly a classic Meal and Show cabaret package.

This show has very broad appeal, and was loved by full houses at it’s premiere at The Promethean in November of 2014.
