Ben Lee Australian Tour

With three sold-out intimate East Coast dates about to kick off over the June long weekend and brand new album Love Is The Great Rebellion released just last week Ben Lee is back! Frontier Touring is pleased to announce that one of Australia’s best-loved singer-songwriters will return to our shores this spring to embark on a national tour, in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth throughout October.

Lee’s insightful lyrics and adept pop compositions – heard on gems like ‘Cigarettes Will Kill You’, ‘Gamble Everything For Love’, ‘Running With Scissors’, ‘Love Me Like The World Is Ending’ and countless others – have made him one of the Australia’s most identifiable and celebrated popsmiths.

Love Is The Great Rebellion is the tenth longplayer from the prolific artist and his first album since signing with Warner Bros. Records this February. Led by charming single ‘Big Love’, the iconic ‘Catch My Disease’ singer returns to the familiar, unabashed sound he’s loved for – upbeat, heart-on-sleeve pop. It’s a family affair too: Lee’s wife, actress Ione Skye, makes an appearance, as does his five-year-old daughter Goldie and his father-in-law, ’60s folk icon Donovan.

To record the predominant pop of Love Is The Great Rebellion, Lee reteamed with acclaimed US producer Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Something For Kate), producer of Lee’s 4x ARIA-winning, double-platinum Awake Is The New Sleep. Back in 2005, that record hit #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart and earned Lee a place in history with trophies for Song of the Year and Most Performed Australian Work at the 2005 APRA Awards. Meanwhile he also took out the #2 spot on triple j’s Hottest 100.

From his days fronting Noise Addict as a teen (admired by Thurston Moore and Mike D) to records about experiences with psychedelic brews (2013’s Ayahuasca: Welcome to the Work), Ben Lee is one of a kind. Don’t miss him playing across the country this October!

Love Is The Great Rebellion is out now via Warner Music Australia.

With three sold-out shows already, Ben Lee’s national headline shows happening next month to celebrate Love Is The Great Rebellion, (out now through Warner Music Australia) are just around the corner. Frontier Touring is thrilled to confirm that joining one of Australia’s best-loved singer-songwriters on his 9-date tour throughout October, is emerging Australian artist Sahara Beck.

Sahara Beck started turning heads from the age of 15 when she released her first full-length album Volume One. Since then, the now 19 year old moved to Brisbane, released two EP’s, played countless shows, including a critically acclaimed performance at Australia’s premiere music industry conference and artist showcase, Bigsound. The performance placed her in The AU Review's 15 Best Performances of Bigsound 2015. Seeing one of her most celebrated tracks ‘Brother Sister’ live, is sure to be an experience, not to be missed.

‘Together with her band, the ensemble was flawless. Every extra stop during a piece was perfectly timed and rehearsed. A sensational set.’ – The AU Review

Joining Ben Lee and Sahara Beck in Brisbane is duo boi&eSKae. Boasting dark, moody pop music, they have graced such stages as Big Day Out, Livid and performed alongside INXS, Rogue Traders, Diesel and Christine Anu to name a few.

Playing at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne is unique singer-songwriter Mia Wray. Signing to Mushroom Music Publishing at 16, Wray went on to release her debut EP, peaking at #3 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart. With over 12,000 fans subscribing to her YouTube Channel, Mia Wray’s stripped back acoustic songs such as ‘Forever Falling’, and ‘Made With Fire’ are sure to provide the perfect opening for Ben Lee.

Sydney local Anabelle Kay will open in her home town. Having toured with Newton Faulkner and Michael Franti, Kay’s soothing folk tracks will provide the perfect opener for Ben Lee. Having just released EP I Think I’m Lost, My Love, fans will be treated to fresh material from this very special singer-songwriter.

Opening Ben’s Adelaide show is solo artist Banjo Jackson. Described by many as a multi-talented one man show, Jackson’s take on melancholy roots and pop display the young singers lyrical maturity. ‘Western River Cove’ is lifted from Jackson’s debut self titled album (out now).

Perth’s very own Wanderlust, are a traveling musical duo, who sing in soothing harmonies. Recent tune ‘Courage’ perfectly summarise the bands acoustic ethos, while ‘Eraser’ provides insight into their live show. Their 5-track EP Dark House Day is out now.
