The Jezabels Australian Tour 2016

2016 sees The Jezabels return with their third studio LP, ‘Synthia’, in store February 12th independently, via MGM Distribution. After eighteen months off the road, writing and recording with long time producer Lachlan Mitchell, they are excited to announce a national tour performing in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, with special guest twenty-one-year-old electro pop sensation Eves The Behaviour.

The Jezabels are:
Sam Lockwood guitar
Nik Kaloper drums
Hayley Mary vocals
Heather Shannon keys

“It takes a ballsy band to play the Sydney Opera House after just two albums…their ambition was given a pretty fair chance by a band which plays well enough to impress, a batch of songs which in their best moments have a soaring reach…and a singer who grew in confidence through the night until she was performing a lap dance on a woman from the front row and making it seem ridiculous and perfect.” - The Sydney Morning Herald

High expectations are a given now for The Jezabels, seven years since those first EPs, ‘The Man is Dead’, ‘She’s So Hard’ and ‘Dark Storm’ began their slow burn from Sydney to the world; four years since ‘Prisoner’ scooped the Australian Music Prize and set stages ablaze from their breakthrough performance at Splendour in the Grass to Lollapalooza, and almost two years since ‘The Brink’ and the spectacular global onslaught that followed, with talked about live performance slots at Montreal Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, T in The Park, Deichbrand and more.

Although the first official single from the new album isn’t due for release until early 2016, the band have released six-minute epic ‘Come Alive’ online to give fans a taste of what’s to come.

“What would you say on your deathbed? What will your regrets be? I think mine might be 'I was scared'. So take that and act on it now. Now that, for western women at least, some of the real, tangible obstacles are being dismantled, we've got to approach the internal ones." - Hayley Mary
