Northlane and In Hearts Wake - Equinox Tour

Brace yourselves as Northlane and In Hearts Wake are up for a musical collision to show you why they are heralded as two of the most successful bands in Australian heavy music today.

Northlane and In Hearts Wake will be performing in Perth, before heading out to Adelaide and Melbourne, then stopping by Brisbane and finishing in Sydney.

The idea for Equinox has always been underway since the two bands hit the road together for the first time on the Discoveries Australian Tour back in 2011 but it only came to life during a Canadian poolside bbq during their North American Tour last year. As Jake Taylor and Josh Smith flipped veggie dogs, they reminsiced many great memories their bands had shared together. Both bands were at similar stage in their careers and this was the perfect venue to be brought full circle. The result is Equinox (equal day, equal night): an all-Australian collaborative tour that revolutionises traditional co-headline show. Get ready to see both bands toggle on each other’s hits and an array of exciting surprises.

“As our paths have crossed over the years the timing is finally right to embark on a co-headline tour that we’ve dreamt up together,” says In Hearts Wake’s Jake Taylor. “It’s hard to think that it all started in a ghetto garage many years ago and here we are now.”

Northlane’s Josh Smith is just as excited to tear up the stage with his best mates: “We always want to be on the road with those guys but I think the fact that we’re both now in a pretty similar stage in our career makes it the right time to do something like this in Australia. I can’t contain my excitement for this tour. We’ve never done anything like it before and who better to be doing it with than our best mates. I’ll cherish the memories of this tour forever.”

The Equinox tour will be the first time both bands will be sharing the stage in their homeland since UNIFY 2015, and another significant chapter in the story of their mateship. Since meeting as aspiring bands many years ago, Northlane and In Hearts Wake have cemented an unbreakable bond that has seen both bands achieve incredible feats here and internationally.

2015 was a massive year for both bands: Northlane saw Node rocketed at No. 1 on the Aria chart while In Hearts Wake landed to No. 2 with Skydancer, both played to thousands of fans at sold out shows around the county and they were rewarded by the industry with ARIA nominations that saw Northlane just pipping In Hearts Wake to the finish line to take home the award.

Joining them will be Hands Like Houses and Ocean Grove.

Come June, Hands Like Houses will conquer huge stages on the Equinox tour. While waiting for their highly anticipated new album, Dissonants, to drop, the Canberra boys have enjoyed an absolute thrashing on triple j and have been busy impressing the pants off massive crowds, playing before thousands of people at the Big Ass Tour with The Amity Affliction and UNIFY 2016.

Ever since the release of their genre bending EP, Black Label, Melbourne’s Ocean Grove have been peddling their erratic live show up and down the highways of Australia, melting minds and destroying stages for Attila, Volumes, Saviour and UNIFY 2016.

VIP packages will be available in limited edition for each show including Meet & Greet options with both bands, as well as early entry and exclusive merchandise.

With Northlane and In Hearts Wake and their guests Hands Like Houses and Ocean Grove, you're sure to see an all-Australian tour de force in what is guaranteed to be the most explosive collaboration in Australian heavy music history.
