Maz Jobrani Returns To Australia For Two Special Shows

Iranian-American comedian Maz Jobrani returns to Australia this July, bringing his brand of comedy for two special shows. Maz will be firing his punchlines in Sydney and Melbourne.

A founding member of The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, Maz has had three television specials, Brown And Friendly, I Come In Peace and most recently, I’m Not A Terrorist, But I’ve Played One On TV.

Maz’s comedy centers on politics, race, religion and other relevant societal issues. He takes pride in breaking down stereotypes about Iranians and the Middle East in general, which even made Queen Rania of Jordan endorse his work on YouTube. At a time when the Middle East and the West are in deep rooted conflicts, Jobrani sets out to unify the two worlds.

He performs stand-up live across the globe, including the Middle East where he has performed in front of the King of Jordan. Maz also appeared on The Tonight Show and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Most recently, he starred as the title character in the award-winning indie comedy, Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero, a film he co-wrote and produced.

Last year, he portrayed the role of Jafar from Aladdin in the Disney movie, The Descendants. With over 50 guest star appearances, Maz can regularly be seen on television’s most popular shows. Guest stars include Grey’s Anatomy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, True Blood, and Shameless. He is a regular panelist on Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and has given two TED Talks.

His LA Times Best Selling Book, I’m Not A Terrorist, But I’ve Played One On TV, was released last in 2015.
