Hot off the heels of their “Surgery of Love” shows, The Delta Riggs are not only set to conquer the airwaves but also the live stage with the release of their new album, Active Galactic.
The band will be winding up series of shows, in conjunction with the release, starting in Bunbury, Perth, Warrnambool and Adelaide all the way to Ballarat Central, Albury, Traralgon, Melbourne, San Remo, Canberra, Richmond, Torquay, Wollongong, Sydney, Bateau Bay, Mona Vale, Byron Bay, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast.
Active Galactic, produced by the band and Jason Hollis, will be out on August 26 via Inertia Music. The Riggs’ third studio LP has 13 new cuts that run the gamut of musical genres from the Rolling Stones inspired “Surgery of Love”, the psychedelic jam “Never Seen This Before” and the high powered disco-rock of “Baddest Mother F**cker in the Beehive”. The album was recorded in isolation at The Grove Studios north of Sydney in just nine days, mixed in Melbourne and mastered in Los Angeles.
“It was super peaceful where we recorded; you feel ostracised from anything else in the universe. It’s important for us to really dive into the recording process without distraction. Vibe is key. It’s almost as paramount as the music. After nine days, cocktails at 5pm, suits at 6pm, a few minor disagreements and some intergalactic good times later – we had finished what we believe to be our finest work to date. Then we went to LA, which is a whole other story", Monte explains on the recording process.
Active Galactic shows the growth of Delta Riggs as a musical force, shooting the band's trajectory to an ever-growing career.
Don't miss The Delta Riggs as they take the Active Galactic Tour around the country from September.
