Pixies Return Down Under This March 2017

After headlining 2007’s inaugural Australian V Festival and selling out their incredible 2010 Doolittle tour across the country, American alternative rock band Pixies return to Australia in March 2017 as part of their Head Carrier world tour.

Pixies will kick off their 2017 Australian tour in Brisbane, before making their way to Melbourne for two consecutive performances. Sydney will host the finale show.

In celebration of their forthcoming album, Head Carrier, the tour sees the welcoming of bassist Paz Lenchatin to the Pixies’ permanent line-up by the band's vocalist/guitarist Black Francis, drummer David Lovering and guitarist Joey Santiago.

Lenchantin has been the band’s touring bassist since January 2014 and had a vital role in the recording of Head Carrier (out September 30 through Pixiesmusic/Play It Again Sam). Her cool and dreamy soprano can be heard singing lead on the track ‘All I Think About Now’.

“Paz is a joy to be around,” said Lovering. “She’s very funny, and we’re having more fun than we’ve ever had as a band, we all have a blast together, on and off stage”.

Set lists from recent UK shows have soared between the old and new, from their 1987 debut to tracks from the forthcoming album. The Telegraph exclaiming “Pixies pummel the Brixton Academy with songs of visceral brilliance,” and The Independent stating “Their job here was done, and done wonderfully".

Grab your tix and see one of the most influential and important bands over the last 30 years tear up the stage right before your very eyes!
