Barry Gibb Cancels Oz Tour and Bluesfest Appearance

Bee Gee's creative leader Barry Gibb cancelled the Australian dates of his 'In The Know World Tour' as well as his headline performance at the Byron Bay Bluesfest next year. In a statement released by Live Nation, the tour promoters, they said that the cancellation was due to Gibbs' change in international commitments.

Both Barry Gibb and Live Nation expressed their regret for the disappointment this might have caused to fans. They added that rescheduling the performances is not feasible at the moment so refunds will be available to all ticket holders.

Fans who booked online or by phone need not take any action as the credit card used will automatically be refunded within ten days. Meanwhile, those who purchased tickets with a credit card that is now cancelled or no longer valid, have to contact the point of purchase.

Those who booked at an outlet should return to the original outlet where the booking was made with their ticket(s) and credit card used to ger their refund. Refunds will only be provided to the original purchaser on presentation of photo ID.

Further refund enquiries should be directed to Ticketmaster, phone 0800 111 999.

In a separate statement, Bluesfest director Peter Noble said that although he was saddened by the announcement, they are already awaiting confirmation from an amazing artist who will take Gibb's place.

Had it not been axed, the tour would have kicked off on 05 April in Brisbane.
