Multiple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Ryan Adams will be packing his bags for a three-date headline tour this May in support of his forthcoming 16th studio LP, Prisoner, due out on 17 Feb via Pax-Am/EMI. Ryan will be performing in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney and Byron Bay.
"One of the most elegant singer-songwriters of his generation." - The New York Times
"One of the few truly great roots-rock troubadours left." - Entertainment Weekly
Two years in the making, the album is an explicit transmission from the singer-songwriter’s psyche and soul, right down to the album artwork he himself painted.
Ryan Adams was last in Australian shores last December, wrapping up a mammoth year of touring that included his first ever headline shows at the famed Red Rocks and Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The Sydney show saw him play tracks from Prisoner for the first time, including ‘Do You Still Love Me?’ and ‘Doomsday’.
"His voice in fine form: its warmth and character engaging; its underestimated technical skill exposed." - Sydney Morning Herald
"It was damn near perfect. Fourteen years into his solo career, Adams may just be entering his prime." - Pop Dose
Sydney’s own Middle Kids will be joining Adams for all Australian shows. The trio have won a legion of fans across the globe – including Sir Elton John – performing at SXSW, Great Escape Festival and Iceland Airwaves Music Festival.
