Royal Blood Back In Australia This July

Following sold out concerts in 2014, Brighton rockers Royal Blood return to Australia, playing Sydney's Metro Theatre in July. The exclusive one-off show comes before they headline this year’s epic and already sold out Splendour In The Grass.

Since forming in 2013, Mike Kerr (bass guitar/vocals) and Ben Thatcher (drums) have made their unique bluesy-psychedelic rock sound resonate across the globe, playing iconic festival stages at SXSW, Coachella, Reading and Leeds, and T in The Park as well as support slots for rock legends Foo Fighters and Guns N’ Roses. Their 2014 eponymous debut became the fastest-selling British rock debut in three years, hitting number one in the UK and number three in Australia, as well as top 20 in 12 countries, including the USA.

November of last year saw Royal Blood, along with producer Jolyon Thomas, spend six weeks in a studio in Brussels that was decked out like a New York diner and featured a warehouse of antique gear. How Did We Get So Dark? (out 16 June through Warner) was subsequently completed after a final session in London with their debut album’s co-producer Tom Dalgety.

"Kerr and Thatcher treat every distorted bass lick and each resounding drumbeat with the respective authority of a studio musician hell bent on being both perfect and soulful." - Consequence of Sound

Brisbane’s Concrete Surfers will be supporting Royal Blood for their exclusive show. The garage skate-rock quartet released their debut EP No More last year and has received plenty of love from triple j unearthed.

Royal Blood will absolutely blow the roof with their unpredictable kinetic energy and captivating live chemistry, so Sydney fans should grab their tickets quick and prepare for a night of glorious rock!
