Dionne Warwick Returns To Australia This November

American soul icon Dionne Warwick is heading back to Australia this November. She will be performing classics from her over five-decade catalogue of hits. Kicking off at Perth's Riverside Theatre, the five-time Grammy winner will touch the hearts of audiences at Adelaide's Thebarton Theatre and Melbourne's Palais Theatre before making her way to Sydney's The Star Event Centre. The final show will be at The Star in the Gold Coast. Following the Australian dates, she will fly to New Zealand for shows at the Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch and ASB Arena at Baypark in Mt. Maunganui.

Over the course of her years in entertainment, Warwick has established herself as an internationally renowned performer with her incredible blend of pop, R&B, gospel and soul. A regular fixture on the charts with 75 hit singles and having sold over 100 million records, Warwick’s remarkable vocals and catchy melodies resonate with audiences anywhere in the world.

Warwick broke into the scene in 1961 after being discovered by songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Over the course of a decade, they released almost 20 best-selling albums and over 30 hit singles including ‘Walk on By’, ‘A House Is Not A Home’, and ‘Say A Little Prayer For You’.

She received her first Grammy Award in 1968 for hit song ‘Do You Know the Way to San Jose?’ and her second Grammy Award in 1970 for best-selling album 'I’ll Never Fall In Love Again'. Dionne Warwick was also the first African-American solo female artist to win the award for Best Contemporary Female Vocalist Performance. Known as the artist who "bridged the gap", her music transcended racial boundaries and she was the first of her peers to have a dozen consecutive Top 100 singles as well as to perform for the Queen of England.

Warwick’s second decade of hit songs began in 1970 when she signed to Warner Bros. Records. She recorded half a dozen records with a number of iconic producers including Thom Bell, Holland-Dozier-Holland, Jerry Ragavoy, Steve Barri and Michael Omartian before signing with Arista Records in 1976. Together with producer Barry Manilow, she released her first platinum-selling album 'Dionne' which spawned the Grammy Award-winning singles ‘I’ll Never Love This Way Again’ and ‘Déjà vu’.

Her star shone even brighter in 1982 with the release of chart-topping album 'Heartbreaker' which was co-produced by Barry Gibb and The Bee Gees and in 1985 when she reunited with composer Burt Bacharach and longtime friends Gladys Knight, Elton John and Stevie Wonder to record the landmark song ‘That’s What Friends Are For’.

In 2013, Warwick released her album 'Now' in celebration of her 50 years in the entertainment industry. Produced by the legendary Phil Ramone, the album featured unreleased material written by longtime friends and songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David. She went on to release 'Feels So Good' in 2014, a duets album featuring a number of today’s greatest musical artists including Alicia Keys, Jamie Foxx, Billy Ray Cyrus, Ne-Yo, Gladys Knight, Cee Lo Green, Cyndi Lauper and many more.
