Country music icon Lee Kernaghan is embraking on his most extensive tour to date off the back of his latest album 'Backroad Nation'. The five-month 'Backroad Nation' tour kicks off this May with shows at Berry Showground, The Saraton Theatre in Grafton and CEX Group in Coffs Harbour. June dates include performances at Club Forster, Port Macquarie's Glasshouse, Horsham Town Hall, Swan Hill Town Hall, Shepparton's Riverlinks, Wagga Wagga Civic Centre, Yoogali Club and Albury Entertainment Centre.

In August, Kernaghan will be serenading audiences at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, Perth's Crown Theatre, Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, Maryborough's Brolga Theatre and Convention Centre, Bundaberg's Moncrieff Entertainment Centre, Rockhampton's Great Western Hotel, Cairns Performing Arts Centre, Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre and Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre. The tour continues in September with shows at Kingaroy Town Hall, Towoomba's Empire Theatres, Sydney's The Evan Theatre, Canberra Theatre Centre, Mount Gambier's The Barn Palais, Adelaide's Thebarton Theatre, Tanunda's Barossa Arts and Convention Centre and Broken Hill Civic Centre.

After a month break, the tour resumes in November, stopping by at Burnie Town Hall, Launceston's Princess Theatre, Hobart's Wrest Point Entertainment Centre, Bendigo's The Capital Theatre, Melbourne's Bunjil Place, The Events Centre in the Sunshine Coast and Twin Towns Services Club in Tweed Heads.

Lee Kernaghan says the 'Backroad Nation' album and tour is a celebration of "us, our way of life and the people who make our country great." "Much of the inspiration for the songs has come from the people I’ve met and the places I've travelled to, from Alice Springs to the Deni Ute Muster, from the mighty Pilbara region in WA to the backroads of Queensland, and everywhere in between," he says.

Kernaghan, who has 38 number one songs under his name, says he will be performing all the hits and a whole lot more on this new tour. "We've been working on creating a concert event that I hope people are going to really love being a part of," he says. "A lot of new design elements have been added with the staging, lighting and screens plus the hottest band in the land, The Wolfe Brothers will be joining me and opening up the shows with a bunch of their own hits."

The Wolfe Brothers made country music history in January after becoming the first group to win four Golden Guitars in one night including the big one, Album Of The Year, for their outstanding release, 'Country Heart'. Hailing from the city of Hobart in Southern Tasmania, the group burst into the national spotlight after they appeared on Channel 7's mega series Australia's Got Talent.

Also along for the ride is Christie Lamb. Christie has notched up multiple number one hits on the charts. She was the Golden Guitar winner for New Talent Of The Year and was voted CMC Female Artist Of The Year in 2018.
