Dame Edna Returns To The Live Stage With Brand New Show 'My Gorgeous Life'

Aussie comedian Barry Humphries is calling his lilac-haired alter ego Dame Edna Everage out of retirement and letting her take on the live stages yet again this September through to October. The grand dame of the theatre world will be touring her brand new stand up show 'My Gorgeous Life' which will kick off at the Canberra Theatre Centre. The show will then head to the International Convention Centre in Sydney, QPAC Concert Hall in Brisbane and Adelaide Convention Centre. Performances at Geelong's Costa Hall, Civic Theatre Newcastle and The Arts Centre Melbourne will follow before the final show at Perth's Riverside Theatre.

In a letter to her fans, Dame Edna apologised for upsetting them when she announced her retirement from public life few years ago. Now, she's back—as exuberant and snob as ever.

"One of the reasons I am adored pretty much worldwide is that I've always told you the truth—mostly the truth about yourselves, and even sometimes about me," Dame Edna said.

"However this is an apology. It's an apology for once telling you a wicked fib: a porkie, a cruel deceitful lie. I told you I had retired. That was a few years ago and when my announcement got around the globe, a lot of people "freaked out", to employ a phrase I never use. Now I'm reborn, fit as a fiddle, and rid of the leech who tormented me for so long. So, Possums, please do come and say hello to me. It would be lovely to see your faces again."

Book your tickets and let Dame Edna show you all how gorgeous her life is this September and October!
