Dweezil Zappa celebrates 50 years of 'Hot Rats' album; plays AU shows next year

American rock guitarist and Frank Zappa's son, Dweezil Zappa, is performing a series of concerts in Australia next year April in celebration of the 50th year anniversary of the release of 'Hot Rats', his father's second studio album. He will be landing at Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall, then will head his way to Sydney's Enmore Theatre, Melbourne's The Croxton and Adelaide's The Gov. The final show will be at Perth's Astor Theatre.

The 'Hot Rats' album played a pivotal role in establishing Frank Zappa as a composer and guitarist and was also dedicated to the then newborn Dweezil upon its release in 1969. The AU leg will see the younger Zappa play the album in its entirety, plus an assortment of other psychedelic, avant-garde odd metered musical marvels, well-known to Zappa aficionados and equally exciting for new generations of fans.

Talking about the tour, Dweezil said, "this is the best version of the band I have ever had. The musicians are able to tackle the hardest instrumental passages and cover a limitless range of vocals."
