John Bishop Australian Tour

John Bishop, one of the biggest names in UK comedy, will be touring Australia for the first time ever this October, performing his hilarious stand-up show in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Just for Laughs Sydney.

John started his comedy career in 2000 and within three years of his first ever gig, John was playing to sell-out arenas across the UK and his debut comedy DVD became the fastest selling in UK history.

“A fabulously gifted comedian.” - Daily Mirror

So strap yourselves in and prepare for lift off; the countdown is on for the long awaited Australian tour of one of comedy’s biggest stars.

2014 saw John in his debut international travelogue, returning to Australia after 22 years to retrace the route of a mammoth bike journey he first made back in 1992 using his original diary as a guide to cycle from Sydney up the coast of Australia towards Far North Queensland. In the three-part series John Bishop’s Australia, he encountered an extraordinary range of vivid characters, heard their fascinating stories and experienced the true natural wonders Australia has to offer.

The cycle tour made John impatient to get back to Australia to do what he does best, he said: “I cannot wait to get back to Oz to do some stand-up. We have a long history together and I can tell you, after recreating the trip I took when I was 25 and cycling all the way up the East Coast last year, I am looking forward to being able to visit on more than two wheels! See you in a couple of months!”

Do not miss this chance to see one of the UK’s finest comedians in fantastic full flow in October.

In 2012, John performed to 500,000 people in his sell-out Rollercoaster tour. With its massive helter skelter set and surprise finale, the DVD of the show went on to top the charts. This time he is pouring even more rocket fuel into the tank in an attempt to exceed those excitements. This time he is guaranteed to take you to even higher heights!

“Bishop has funny bones.” - The Times

Not content with this, in 2013, John cycled, rowed and ran from Paris to London in his one-off special for Sport Relief in John Bishop’s Week of Hell (BBC One), wrote about it in his best-selling autobiography How Did This All Happen? which was released in paperback the following summer. John ended his year with a royal engagement with Her Majesty hosting the prestigious Royal Variety Show, before hosting John Bishop’s Christmas Show on BBC One.

John regularly appeared on Sky 1’s A League of their Own, he has also presented Live at the Apollo, John Bishop’s Britain (BBC One) and John Bishop’s Only Joking (Sky 1). He is currently on BBC One with his brand new series The John Bishop Show.

Adding another string to his bow, John has also worked as an actor under the direction of Ken Loach in Route Irish and the critically acclaimed Jimmy McGovern’s series Accused.
