RAW Comedy 2016

Australia’s biggest and most prestigious annual open mic comedy competition is back, kickstarting in January until April! Produced by Melbourne International Comedy Festival, RAW Comedy continues to grow in popularity as more and more people try their chances to get up stage.

It’s survival of the funniest in RAW Comedy, when the nation’s comedy thrill seekers swing headfirst into the spotlight. There’s nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of performing in front of a live audience. Who knows, you could become the next Ronny Chieng, Hannah Gadsby, Josh Thomas, Celia Pacquola or Matt Okine. And even if not, you’ll definitely be conquering your fears and reaching new heights.

There will be two Melbourne Preliminaries happening in Fitzroy and Brunswick, plus a Perth Wildcard. The Semi Finals takes place in Perth while the National Final will be held in Melbourne’s Town Hall.

The ultimate RAW Comedy National Champion jets off to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – the world's largest and most awesome annual comedy fun time to perform in “So You Think You're Funny?”.
