Four years on from his last visit, the legendary and multi-Grammy award winning guitar hero, Carlos Santana, is set to hit the road on his Transmogrify Tour this April. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will showcase his slashing guitar chords in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
There's no doubt that Santana is one of the most prolific and influential guitarists to ever walk the planet. Throughout his 4-decade career, he has sold in excess of 100 million records and reached more than 100 million fans at concerts across the globe, bagging no less than ten Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammy Awards to his name. 1999’s Supernatural album saw Santana chalk up a record-tying nine Grammy’s for a single project, including awards for Album of the Year and Record of the Year for ‘Smooth’. Among many other honours, Rolling Stone has cited Carlos Santana as #15 on their list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.
Santana was last in Australia in 2013 for national shows with The Steve Miller Band. The music legend this time returns, following the release of the wildly anticipated Santana IV record, featuring the original late-1960’s lineup reunited for the first time in 45 years.
Joining him as special guests on the Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney dates are the mighty Doobie Brothers. Apart from the Transmogrify dates, Santana and the Doobie Brothers will also be gracing this year's Byron Bay Bluesfest.
Grab your tickets and prepare your ears for a deluge of guitar riffs only from Carlos Santana!
