Bastille Headline Shows

Fellas, we definitely got plenty more reasons to be “overjoyed” this spring. British alt-poppers Bastille will be landing down under this September, marking their first visit in four years. They will be performing in Melbourne and Sydney in celebration of the release of their newest single ‘Quarter Past Midnight’.

After blasting the airwaves worldwide with anthemic tracks like ‘Flaws’, ‘Bad Blood’, ‘Laura Palmer’ and the widely-acclaimed chart-topper ‘Pompeii’, here comes a new slice of pop goodness that will surely make you abuse the replay button. ‘Quarter Past Midnight’ debuted last May and as expected, the song is genuinely identifiable to Bastille, with its euphoric hook and interesting breakbeats. It is the first single from the band’s yet to be released third album. The upcoming headline shows will see Dan Smith and company playing the song live for the very first time in Australia, as well as the abovementioned hits. Who knows, they might also be sampling other songs from the album.

"Bastille operate within the same kind of anthemic modern pop rock parameters as Coldplay and Keane..." - The Telegraph UK

Joining the band on stage will be Australia’s Nicole Millar. The pop sweetheart shot into fame after lending her soulful and smoky vocals to Peking Duk’s ‘High’ back in 2014. She is currently riding on her debut album ‘Excuse Me’ which was released in June.

Bastille have only been in the business for less than 10 years and yet they've proven deserving of fans’ amorous attention. Their synth-laden music has not only received massive radio airplay but has also been used in many TV series and video games as accompanying tracks. The band have also become festival favourites and garnered several awards and nominations. So far, they have sold over 10 million records across the globe, but this number is sure to rise as soon as their new album hits the shelves.

Peek at Bastille's headline dates below and stay until quarter past midnight, jamming to their songs!
