Engelbert Humperdinck – The Man I Want To Be Tour 2019 in Queensland

Romance will spread all over Australia in March next year as the "King of Romance" Engelbert Humperdinck returns to our shores with his 'The Man I Want To Be Tour'. He will be serenading fans in the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth with his thick catalogue of heart-melting ballads and and ear-tickling hits.

Before crooning for Aussie fans though, he will first be winding up a trio of shows in New Zealand. He'll be touching the hearts of audiences in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

Despite growing up extraordinarily shy, Engelbert Humperdinck found his way into the limelight. He shot to fame in 1967 after his single ‘Release Me’ famously blocked The Beatles from scoring the number one chart position with their then new track ‘Penny Lane’. Following on from 50 weeks in the UK charts, the Leicester-based entertainer continued his meteoric rise to fame, becoming a sex symbol to women worldwide and delivering one of the most iconic voices of his generation.

With a career spanning half a century, Engelbert amassed 64 Gold albums, 35 Platinum records, four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has performed for the Queen, as well as for several presidents, alongside music legends like Ray Charles, Tom Jones and Dean Martin. He also became a close friend of Elvis Presley.
