Marina Prior and David Hobson – The 2 Of Us Tour
Think of The Phantom of The Opera, Les Miserables, West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and La Boheme being all in one stage—this is what Australian Opera and Musical Theatre legends David Hobson and Marina Prior will make you experience as they hit the road with their mammoth 'The 2 Of Us' tour this March to August.
Kicking off in Wyong, the powerhouse vocal tandem will head their way to Brisbane, Perth, Coffs Harbour, Sydney, Renmark, Adelaide, Port Pirie, Whyalla, Port Lincoln, Albury, Wagga Wagga, Canberra, Toowoomba, Tweed Heads, Shepparton, Horsham, Bendigo, Geelong, Maryborough, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Mackay, Cairns, Albany, Perth, Mandurah, Port Macquarie, Grafton, Bathurst, Dubbo, West Tamworth, Launceston, Hobart, Dee Why, Wentworthville, Newcastle, Kingsford, Wollongong, Sutherland, Penrith, Merimbula, Batemans Bay and Castle Hill.
They will be accompanied by renowned pianist, David Cameron. Apart from performing classics from various musicals, David and Marina will also be in an 'up close and personal' mode, singing songs from their award-winning albums.
"It’s great that we have the opportunity to take the show to the people, in areas around the country, that we may not have otherwise been able to get to with some of the bigger productions we perform in," says Marina.
"With the Up Close & Personal show, it's like you’re in our living room and we’re in yours, singing both yours and our favourite songs with a few funny career stories thrown in," says David.
David Hobson is one of Australia’s best known operatic tenors, musical theatre performers and recording artists. He has sung many roles for Opera Australia, played lead roles in musical theatre, sung for the Queen, featured at the AFL Grand Final, Carols by Candlelight, Spicks and Specks, Dancing with the Stars, It Takes Two and has been a presenter on Foxtel’s Arts Channel, Studio.
Marina Prior is regarded as Australia’s leading lady of musical theatre. She is best known for her lead role in The Phantom of the Opera. She has also performed with international stars like Richard Harris and Jose Carreras. Renowned for her Carols by Candlelight performance each year, she was recently seen on the ABC TV series The Divorce. In 2006, Marina was honoured with an induction into Australia’s 100 Entertainers of the Century.
