Backbone Youth Arts

Backbone Youth Arts is a youth arts organisation based in East Brisbane, Australia. It supports curious, untamed, and experimental thinkers to challenge ideas and express themselves through many creative art forms.

Backbone Youth Arts facilitates learning and risk taking, as well as the creation of new and exciting works. Its year-round programming includes workshops, performances, festivals, events, resources and training, and providing space for all of this to happen in.

Established in Brisbane over 30 years ago, Backbone has now settled into its home at the East Brisbane Bowls Club which it has transformed into a vibrant arts hub where people come to be creative, see shows, and host their own unique events.

All of these things are part of its mission: to cultivate this city and nation’s next generation of artists, creative entrepreneurs, and cultural leaders. Backbone is here for the young artist community, and because of the young artist community.
