27 Main Street, Bogong
Bogong Village sits between mountain ridges high in the Kiewa Valley where the Kiewa river meets Lake Guy halfway between Mt Beauty and Falls Creek
The High Plains with its alpine meadows, ancient snow gums and iconic cattleman’s huts is only a short trip away.
Downhill are the delights of the wineries and eateries of the Kiewa valley, and further afield are the Ovens and King Valleys and the Milawa region.
If history is more to your liking the historic gold mining towns of Beechworth and Yackandandah are within easy reach.
Albury on the Hume Highway is a little over an hour away at the opposite end of the valley or, if you’re arriving from the south, there are several options for crossing the ridge from the Ovens to the Kiewa Valley.
The drive up the valley is a delight at any time of the year. Snowcapped mountains, dairy cows in lush green pasture, towering mountain ash and clouds that hang in the foothills as small towns roll by, create a sense of anticipation about reaching the top of the valley.
Bogong Village is in a rare and special location being situated as it is within the Alpine National Park with its own seasonal gardens offering a retreat from the heat of summer and easy access to the skifields in winter.
