Claerwen Retreat

Claerwen Retreat is located at Crow's Nest Lookout along the famous Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Crow's Nest holds ancient significance in the aboriginal culture and used to be a sacred site. Those susceptible to these more subtle influences will experience Claerwen Retreat as a deeply healing place. Others will discover the wild magic of unspoilt nature on top of our hill, where we are surrounded by kangaroos, koalas and a multitude of birds - and the ever-changing weather blowing in from Bass Straight.

Claerwen Retreat offers space for group workshops and individual retreats. Art therapy and other creative approaches, Somatic Experiencing (a body-focussed trauma therapy), Yoga, meditation and body work are the core modalities we offer. Claerwen Retreat is a place to learn new skills in a variety of art therapy workshops for professional development. It is also a place for those times when we need time-out, a place to retreat, to be alone and go inward. Burn-out, a personal crisis or illness may require us to step out of the normal routine, be away from everything in order to review and transform patterns that no longer suit. Inner work can at times be confronting; it can be hard work! We are neither a spa for pampering nor a psychiatric facility. Except for certain workshops we require that guests are capable to cook and cater for their own needs while we offer skilled therapeutic support.
