It takes time to prepare great produce and Frank’s has had over 100 years. Frank was the third generation of the Clark Family to farm at Woodside, Franklin, established in 1836 by John Clark, the area’s first white settler.

Some of our trees, from the oldest heritage orchards in Australia, are over 160 years old and ripen later than any others in the Huon Valley. Tasmania’s cool climate and long seasons ripening fruit on the tree are what creates the taste.

Today Frank planted many of the trees still harvested for cider by today’s 5th and 6th generations of the Clark Family.

Naomie-Clark Port and her husband Tony Port are current custodians of the Woodside Family orchard and were the founders of Franks Cider Company in 2012. Franks Cider which is now being sold Australia wide through Dan Murphy’s and other selected bottle shops, bars and restaurants.

In 2014 they opened the doors to Franks Ciderhouse and Café where you can taste and purchase the ciders and learn about the history of apple growing in Franklin and the Huon Valley.
