Map showing Fringe HQ

This new open access indi arts hub in the heart of Kings Cross continues the work undertaken by Sydney Fringe over the past four years to activate underutilised and unused space for the independent arts sector of Sydney. This project, the first of its kind in Sydney, aims to create a sustainable way for cultural organisations to work with government and land owners to open new small-medium sized cultural spaces. In a city that is rapidly developing, it is vital to forge a new and vibrant way forward to ensure that the next generation of artists have permanent space in Sydney.

Fringe HQ features four performance spaces across three levels. It will be open for an initial six-month period and will provide a home for emerging artists to develop their craft, and for established artists to test out new ideas. With no curatorial guidelines, this open access space is limited only by the local artists' imaginations. With theatre, cabaret, live music and immersive events and more, this is the newest, hottest place to be this year in one of the city’s oldest entertainment precincts.
