The area was once home to the Aboriginal people known as Ku-ring-gai. Governor Arthur Phillip visited this area in March 1788 by boat and named it Pittwater. From 1924 to the early 70?s the area was used as a public camping ground.
There is plenty to do at Governor Phillip Park you can swim, surf, fish, there is boat hire, you can even book scenic flights by seaplane.
This location is commonly known as 'Summer Bay,' due to this park being the location where Home and Away is filmed
