J-Shed

J-Shed is an original warehouse located on the shores of Arthur Head Reserve in Fremantle. It was first built as a warehouse for Fremantle Harbour in the early 20th Century and remained there until the 1950s, when it moved to its present site today. The warehouse features original glass fronted windows that showcases uninterrupted views over the idyllic Bathers Beach precinct.

The year 2016 will mark the first activation of this unique space which will see a series of cultural events showcasing the Fremantle motifs of live music, art and food. The concept behind the space was to create a one of a kind beach concert experience currently not on offer; reflecting the relaxed Western Australian lifestyle, while complementing the lineup of talent with quality artisan foods and beverages. With the sun setting over the Indian Ocean it’s the perfect place to get down early, grab a drink and enjoy the wares from some of WA’s finest.

Sunset Sounds introduces an instalment of intimate beach concerts featuring performances on selected dates throughout the Summer. This outdoor live music series is set to see a high calibre of International, National and local talent presented in a carefully curated and programmed event series.

Providing something new to Freo locals and those alike, J-Shed will also be home to a Beach bbq event series; an outdoor internationally inspired and flavoured bbq with local & touring ambient DJs. This is set to be held throughout the summer period on selected Sundays from January through Autumn.

With more exciting new projects that will activate the space and compliment the surrounding Arts Precinct to come, J-Shed is set to bring this space to life!
