Knapsack Reserve includes the first sanctioned and purpose built DH track in the Blue Mountains.
Called Stringline, it’s a Black Diamond grade DH track that ends up at the bottom of Mitchells Pass. There is also lots of XC singletrack cris-crossing the Reserve. Some parts are loose, dusty, rocky and technical and other parts are smooth and flowing. Follow your nose, it’s hard to get lost as most trails end up back on the main fire trail that runs through the Reserve.
Also in the Reserve are Marge’s and Elizabeth’s Lookout that gives a view over the Sydney Basin and on a good day you can see the Sydney skyline.
