The current building was first opened by the Mayor of the time, Cr John Freeman, on the 18th June 2003. Since then it has serviced the surrounding suburbs of Browns Plains, Regents Park, Boronia Heights, Hillcrest, Heritage Park, Drewvale, Parkinson, Crestmead and Park Ridge.

Situated on the outskirts of suburban Logan City, the area continues to grow and has a large population of young families who enjoy their library for school holiday events, early literacy and discovering new technology like robotics.

In March every year, the library holds events themed around murder mystery novels including an escape room. Around October the teens congregate to see who will survive the zombie apocalypse. The library is a great place to learn new things, meet new people, participate in the local community and share ideas and cultures.
