Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1906, the Mater has evolved from a small cottage hospital, caring for women and children, to a world class facility. Bringing the healing ministry of Christ to all it serves, the Mater cares for the sick regardless of race, colour or creed. Most agree that there is something special about the Mater and the care it provides.
