Matthews Netball Centre

The Matthews Netball Centre has been the home of netball since 1961, it was originally named after a hard working, persistent volunteer who was key in gazetting the land from the WA Government. Competitions have been run at Matthews every year since. It has been the office for the State body for decades, hosted the World and National championships and as such is pivotal in the history of Netball in Western Australia. With the recent redevelopment of the grounds and facilities, the Matthews’ Netball Centre will remain the prime place for grass roots netball in the state for meny more decades to come. In 2011, work commenced on redevelopment of Matthews Netball Centre and the precinct it sits within – the Wembley Sports Park. The new building and courts are modern and well-suited to the needs of a leading and growing netball association. The building was finished and opened in 2013 and provides offices of PNA staff, a canteen for competition days, change rooms and storage space for clubs, and rooms for first aid and training courses.
