Corner Ferrars Street and Dorcas Street, South Melbourne, Melbourne
The Melbourne Camera Club is a not-for-profit organisation run by and for photography enthusiasts. It is the largest photography club in Victoria and prides itself on being able to provide its members with a diverse range of services.
The Club is a friendly and welcoming environment and aims to assist and encourage individuals in their creative pursuits. A wealth of knowledge is on hand in the form of members, and workshops and presentations by specialists are included in the yearly program.
If interested in a particular field (or particular fields) of photography, members can attend the meetings of various interest groups. The Portrait Group, the Traditional Darkroom Printmakers Group, the Audio Visual Group, the Photographic Lighting Group, the Photo Discussion Group and the Digital Group all meet regularly and are very welcoming of new attendees.
Members also enjoy participation in monthly Print and Electronic Digital Image (EDI) competitions, access to a fully-equipped darkroom, a print finishing area and a studio, and the use of the Club’s library. Members also receive a weekly e-newsletter and the Club’s bi-monthly magazine, Exposure.
Visitors are welcome to attend meetings and Club events – check out our program and come to an event at that interests you! Meetings start at 8pm unless otherwise advertised and take place at the Club rooms in South Melbourne.
