Mundaring Arena

MUNDARING Arena will be a state-of-the-art facility catering for netball, basketball, hockey, badminton, volleyball and Futsal (indoor soccer).

The all-weather courts will enable sports to be played all year round at all times of day. The indoor courts will increase player and spectator comfort significantly, especially in winter months.

The total number of courts will increase from eight to 12. During construction players will still be able to access the outdoor courts.

Pindan was awarded the design and construct tender in 2015 with a lengthy detailed design phase following.

Construction of the $10.1million project began in November 2016 and will take around a year.

A number of environmental strategies have been implemented including reuse of tree logs on the site for ground fauna, nesting box installation and retaining top soil to use as a seed bank.

Environmental expert Simon Cherriman assisted with fauna relocation prior to works starting.

Mundaring Community Bank Branch Bendigo Bank has pledged $100,000 towards the project, with local basketball, hockey and netball clubs pledging between $10,000 and $30,000 each. The State Government is providing $3million in funding, with the Shire funding the remainder.
