Nurses Memorial Centre

Nurses Memorial Centre is an Australian-wide not-for-profit, which celebrates and supports the best practice in the nursing profession, as well as honouring nurses who have contributed to the well-being of our nation and its people.

Located on St Kilda Road Melbourne, the Centre honours the sacrifices made by Australian nurses in World War II, as well as encouraging current nurses and graduates to enrich their professional careers.

To advance the health of this community, Nurses Memorial Centre awards scholarships that are named in honour of the original-returning nurses to outstanding nursing graduates. Nurses Memorial Centre is also responsible for the archive of unique historic wartime documents that commemorate the nurses who have died in wars or conflicts since those on active duty in World War Two.

Therefore this living memorial respects the heroic acts of past nurses who both spent time at war and gave their lives, whilst also supporting our dedicated current Australian nurses into the future.
