Originally opening as a video store Planet has had a long and celebrated history on Beaufort Street. In December 1990 Planet first opened its doors after the metamorphosis of its predecessor Topshow Video. A few years later in 1996 Planet added music and film sales to its portfolio. Owners Haydn and Anthea Robinson had a vision to create Perth’s left of centre culture shop.
With the bookshop edition in 2006 Planet Books was formed. The Planet Bookstore is splitting at the seams with books, collectibles and giftware. With titles spanning all genres, from cult to music, design to travel, and then some, it’s Mt. Lawley’s best store for the literary folk in Perth.
