Built in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1885, and carried coal, nitrate, and wheat between England and South America. Between 1885 and 1904, traversed the globe 17 times; rounded the treacherous Cape Horn 16 times. Total distance travelled: 1.5 million kilometres. Could travel at speeds of 14 knots (26 kph).
Sold to the National Trust in 1968 for one cent!
