St. John's Uniting Church
Website
St John's Uniting Church, Essendon had its beginnings when the first church was built on our present site by early Scottish Presbyterian settlers in 1852. In 1849 a Society of the Primitive Methodist Church with pioneering settlers from England began meetings in homes before soon constructing their own church buildings. With such a long and rich heritage of over 150 years, St John's continues to bring together Methodist, Presbyterian, Congregational and people from other Christian traditions to explore and express an authentic contemporary Australian spirituality.
