The State Netball Hockey Centre (SNHC) opened in January 2001 and is the home of Victorian netball and hockey, with over 150,000 visitors every year. SNHC was built at a cost of $27 million, funded by the State Government. The Centre was built on the previous site of the netball and hockey complexes in Royal Park.

The Centre is overseen by the State Sport Centres Trust, a statutory authority which also manages Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) and the MSAC Institute of Training (MIT).

SNHC was a host venue for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and has hosted dozens of national and international events. In late 2009, the Centre hosted the prestigious ABN AMRO 2009 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy.

SNHC facilities include:
Five indoor netball courts (including a 3055 seat show court)
Two international standard ‘wet’ hockey pitches
Two functions rooms, one overlooking the main indoor stadium and the other with views of the main hockey field
Cafe
Retail outlet
The Centre is also the administrative base for Hockey Victoria, while Netball Victoria has a satellite office within the complex.
