The British Working Men's Club was established way back in 1953 but the first Clubrooms were not established until 1959 when the then State Govt granted a land grant to allow for the establishment of a quality meeting place for the hundreds of the post war British imigrants that decided to settle in Adelaide. The club soon become extremely popular and was patronised by hundreds of people after work each day and of course on the weekends. In it's hey days, the club would provide world class entertainment with the likes of Gerry & the Pacemakers, Del Shannon, Norman Wisdom, the Searchers and so many more.
