The Ponds Community Hub

The Ponds Community Hub (The Hub) on Riverbank Drive came to life on Saturday, 14 June, with the grand opening of the $8.7 million facility. Over one thousand residents from The Ponds participated in a variety of activities running in The Hub’s rooms.

Many services will be provided by Council in The Hub which encourage learning and promote healthy living. The Hub has deliberately been designed to be a multi-use facility featuring a variety of different sized rooms to accommodate a broad range of activities. It will become a focal gathering place for the community.

The day featured live performances in the main hall, demonstrations in cup cake decorating, crafts for children, face painting and other activities.

An information stand was also set up by North West Rail Link in the Main Hall, with team members answering community questions about the project and construction milestones.

The 1100 square metre multi-purpose building provides diverse spaces including a meeting/ technology room, function rooms, children’s art and play area, a large commercial-style demonstration kitchen and space for community services. A community garden also features in the plans
