Thornlie Christian College was originally founded in 1984 by Thornlie Church of Christ as a school to which parents within the congregation could send their children to gain a solid Christian foundation to their education.
Since that time the College has opened its doors to the wider community whilst continuing to grow in students, staff and facilities. Today the College is considered a leader of Christian schools in Christ-centred education, particularly in the south eastern metropolitan suburbs of Perth.
