YWCA

YWCA Hunter Region Inc. is part of the Australian YWCA movement, which in turn is part of YWCA World. It's a women-led organisation that achieves positive change by providing advocacy, programs and services for women, families and communities.

YWCAs deliver programs and services and undertake advocacy to develop the leadership and collective power of women and girls; supporting individuals, their families and communities at critical times, and promoting gender equality and community strengthening.

YWCA Australia has continued to manage the Equality Rights Alliance and auspice the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Alliance – both of whom have had strong years informing policy debates on women’s issues.
