Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery

An expression of the Buddhist concepts of virtue, compassion and wisdom.

The Art Gallery of Fo Guang Yuen Melbourne opened in November 2001 and is home to some of the world's excellent collection of art. It is a branch of Fo Guang Shan Melbourne, one of the hundreds branch temples of Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Order worldwide.

It is based on the ideal of the Grand Master Venerable Hsing Yun in promoting Humanistic Buddhism and building a pure land. The Grand Master aims to bring the appreciation of tradition and contemporary and the rich concepts and culture of Buddhism through the various images presented in the colorful and inspiring artwork.

The integrity and profundity of life is reflected in art, which is a communication of the mind. It brings insight and harmony among the diversity in this wonderful meeting of East and West.
The art gallery features a wide range of work with cultural and artistic value. The huge collections of artwork range from sculptures, painting, drawing, calligraphy, pottery, and handicrafts to embroidered textiles; many of which are masterpieces of various cultures.

The exhibition changes regularly depending on a different theme. Visitors will be excited by the spectacular collection of artworks both local and overseas.
